Search giant Google has announced its plans to offer its users a much more integrated and comprehensive way to search for and view information on the Internet, making the search experience very much like a ‘universal’ search.. The company has also come up with an updated homepage design and a number of new navigation features that allow for faster and simpler searches.
According to Marissa Mayer, vice president of search products and user experience at Google, “Our focus has always been making our users’ search experience as simple and straightforward as possible. The ultimate goal of universal search is to break down the silos of information that exist on the web and provide the very best answer every time a user enters a query. While we still have a long way to go, todays announcements are a big step in that direction.”
As part of Google’s vision for universal search, the company is offering search features across all of its content sources. Also, the company has plans to compare and rank all the information in real time
